Sustainability

Tacit, a family-owned company founded nearly four decades ago, is committed to championing sustainability and innovation in the golf industry. Under the guidance of Managing Director Tim Webb, Tacit continues to redefine what it means to be environmentally conscious in golf course accessory manufacturing. An example of this are our linen flags, which stand as a testament to our commitment to ensuring we offer sustainable options that still uphold our renowned quality. Tacit's dedication extends far beyond a single product however, and we aim to champion sustainability across the fairway, from fabric choices to energy sources and 40 years of carbon offsetting.

Eco-Friendly Linen Flags

Tacit's decision to use linen as an option for flags exemplifies our dedication to sustainability. Derived from the flax plant, linen offers numerous environmental benefits. Flax cultivation requires significantly less water compared to conventional cotton, with rainwater covering 99.9% of its watering needs. Furthermore, flax demands minimal-to-no pesticide use, fostering healthier ecosystems and reducing environmental pollutants. This fabric choice reflects our holistic approach to sustainability, from material sourcing to end-of-life considerations.

Solar-Powered Stitching and Embroidering

Every flag produced by Tacit Golf is stitched and embroidered using solar power. We harnesses the abundant energy of the British sun (when it decides to shine!) to power our manufacturing processes, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and minimising carbon emissions. Tim Webb's forward-thinking vision means Tacit has embraced renewable energy, setting a precedent for eco-conscious manufacturing in the golf industry.

Offsetting Carbon Footprint

Tacit goes beyond solar power by actively engaging in carbon offsetting initiatives. Through strategic tree planting programs, we have neutralised our carbon footprint, ensuring minimal environmental impacts. Tacit's commitment to environmental stewardship shines through as we mitigate our emissions and promote a healthier planet.

Tacit's dedication to sustainability is evident in every aspect of our operations. From the innovative use of linen flags and solar-powered manufacturing to carbon offsetting initiatives, Tacit aim to set a new standard for eco-conscious manufacturing in the golf industry. Under the leadership of Tim Webb, we continue to lead the charge towards a brighter, more sustainable future, ensuring that the game of golf remains in harmony with the environment for generations to come.
